Dire situation in Acquacalda

Subject: Dire situation in Acquacalda.

We would like to take advantage of your kind attention to inform you of events that are marking the life of Acquacalda. In

2) During the piling work for the implementation of the "straps", far from over, the pipes were damaged for water supply, and to date there is a serious shortage of water throughout the area.

3) were, in fact, suspended work on coastal protection.

local authorities (Municipality, Province, the Maritime) shall, with commendable zeal, only to issue orders and prohibitions without even evaluating, very seriously, the causes that have led in recent decades, the environmental disaster.

We are very well aware of how onerous in terms of economic, technical and time, give birth to a radical, effective and decisive.

But we can not see the outrage in improvisation, the inexperience of the inconsistency that currently is being implemented, all compounded by an inefficient use of public money.

And we can not fail to learn indignant refusal to recognize the state of calamity for the entire population of Acquacalda.

We live here, work here, here we have invested many or few financial resources.

The already weak economy kneeling, with prospects, more immediately, to complete failure, but everything seems to stagnate in our small village in confirmation of the sad isolation in which we live.

Subject: Crash landing "Italpomice.

By order N ° 34/2008 of 24/11/2008 on the local penitentiary Maritime Bureau has reported the danger of the area affected by the collapse of the wharf property of the company "Italpomice SpA" by denying access.

And we are the usual: the competent authorities cordoned off, prohibit, impose restrictions, but do nothing to resolve definitively, what caused the disaster.
Disaster, also in this case, widely announced by the many complaints and visible, even to inexperienced eyes, corrosion that over time have undermined the stability of the work left in total neglect since 2004, the tragic accident, weather and the fury of our ocean.

And when the sea has given the coup de grace to this rickety structure, throwing water in a large part, there is, today, that no institution has applied for civil or maritime, to 'Italpomice SpA, the removal of the wreck.

A simple ban, which was not accepted, does not solve the problem and gives us no protection or security.

To protect all the inhabitants of Acquacalda therefore require the removal of the pier, now submerged, the safety of the whole structure and the remediation of the entire affected area, including the part insistent on the beach and on the road.
In this regard we attach photographic evidence from which one can infer the state of wear of some serious support of the building overlooking the only road already so devastated, that connects us to the rest of the island.

The tourist season is already in an advanced state of planning and promotion and lack of serious action solvers would cause serious damage to the township, of that we believe are fully responsible for the relevant bodies.
